Create a 3D model from scratch for the purpose of rigging and importing into VRChat.

Phase 1
Cubone has a recognizable design made up of some interesting shapes.

In order to make this endeavour as easy as possible, I gathered and looked at as many angles.

Image 2-1 was incredibly helpful in getting a better side-view of Cubone's skull.

Phase 2
My biggest obstacle with Cubone was his skull. Keeping the profile accurate and good-looking was tough when I didn't have a lot of front-facing references. In this case, the reference 3D model was a life saver. I also looked at some Google images to see what his head looks like underneath in order to make his skull a toggle.
I kept his coloring flat as my focus here was modeling smaller creatures with short limbs. My second biggest test were his little back spikes as I struggled on the flow of topology. In the end, though I got it!

Phase 3
The following images were taken in VRChat and I'm quite happy with how he looks!
He could use some shading as his arms blend into his body, but he moves around rather well regardless.
